Over one million views of Duncan Pickles and Scrappy Nelson - Happy Dog Project winners
Walks have got that bit longer for Milton Keynes dog owner Andria Hughes this festive season as her Border Terriers Duncan Pickles and Scrappy Nelson are the latest internet sensation with an army of new followers.
As the latest winners of the MORE TH>N Happy Dog Project – these gloriously named dogs have been seen by over one million people – many of whom are now stopping to congratulate Andria and meet the boys!
Leading pet insurer MORE TH>N launched the Happy Dog Project inviting Britain’s ten million dog owners to describe their dog’s dream day with a view to turning dreams into reality for the lucky winners.
Andria’s pet pooches Duncan Pickles, aged one and a half years and Scrappy Nelson, aged four years are avid lovers of all things snow related – but as it’s not something they see very often in Milton Keynes, until MORE TH>N turned Andria’s winning Twitter entry into reality – creating a winter wonderland in the dogs’ own back garden.
The video of the dogs frolicking in the snow and chomping their way through the doggy treats that make up a snowman’s face and arms has taken the internet by storm with nearly one million views in just a few weeks.
Danielle Stooke, brand and advertising manager, MORE TH>N said:
“Celebrating happy, healthy pets’ lives is integral to our brand and our customers take every opportunity to share details of their dogs’ and cats’ lives be it photos, anecdotes or top tips on our social media sites. The MORE TH>N Happy Dog project had an overwhelming response both for entries and now for its results – we are delighted that Duncan and Scrappy are the latest internet sensation.”
“I have had these two since they were puppies. They have always loved snow, so the transformation of our garden into a winter wonderland was truly amazing – MORE TH>N did a fantastic job. The sheer joy of Duncan and Scrappy playing has really caught the public’s imagination and I cannot believe how many people have contacted me since the video was posted.”

Scrappy Nelson (@ScrappyN) was named due to Andria’s plans to get two boys from the same litter, Scrappy and Nelson. As it happens the litter was small and Scrappy was the only boy so he inherited both names and they suit him perfectly.
Duncan Pickles (@DuncanPickles) is named after the Scottish footballer Duncan Ferguson who played for Rangers and Everton. Pickles came from a lunch they were eating on the day he was named.
