The pace of change in work environments is also accelerating, with flexible working now more necessary and commonplace. Technological change is gaining pace too. As new careers emerge, the need for our business to up-skill and develop our people in preparation for the future of work becomes ever more important.

Our approach

We’re dedicated to developing the capabilities of our people and creating an environment where they can work together and serve our customers most effectively.

Our Group-wide people strategy, YourBestU, sets out our ambitions for our workforce. It is underpinned by our people principles, which guide our decisions as we seek to develop the skills, capabilities and culture required to help us all to succeed in the future. This includes developing leadership and technical skills, ensuring we have good performance management in place, and helping us to share and collaborate with one another.

YourBestU is championed by our leaders and colleagues across the business, for example through the work of our Diversity and Inclusion Councils and Employee Resource Groups. Our vision is to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can bring their best selves to work. We do this by building greater diversity across all levels of our organisation and creating a more inclusive culture to attract and encourage diverse perspectives.
