RSA Insurance has today announced that Peter Townsend has been appointed Chief Compliance Officer for its UK and International business.
Peter has worked at RSA for 10 years, joining as Legal Counsel in 2012. Since then, he has held roles as RSA’s Group Head of Financial Crime and Group Data Protection Officer. Prior to joining RSA, Peter was a solicitor at Berwin Leighton Paisner and Clifford Chance.
In the role, Peter will be responsible for implementing and monitoring regulatory developments and creating support frameworks and policies. Peter will do this by working with business areas affected by regulatory change, as well as providing advice and guidance to the RSA Board and Executive Team and working with our parent company Intact, in particular our Group Chief Compliance Officer, Robin Richardson.
Dave Howell, Chief Risk Officer at RSA, said: “Given Peter’s extensive experience, dedication and performance at RSA over the last 10 years, it is clear that he is the right candidate for the job.
