RSA unveils risk managed insurance offering for UK care sector
RSA, one of the largest UK commercial insurers, has launched a specialist insurance and risk management product designed to meet the specific requirements of firms operating within the UK’s care sector.
The new packaged insurance offering, available via brokers, includes enhanced risk management, underwriting and claims services for the care sector as well as features often not included in standard combined offerings. The new risk-managed offering builds on RSA’s established knowledge of the care sector, which it has served for many years through longstanding partnerships and insurance schemes.
Care is aimed at care homes, hospices, residential homes and day care centres in the UK. It also caters to children’s homes, homes for supported living, domiciliary care providers and counselling services.
Risk consulting is at the heart of RSA's Care proposition, ensuring it supports organisations in identifying and mitigating potential risks, and helps them to protect themselves, their employees and customers. Risk consulting support around health & safety management, fire safety, business continuity, slips & trips, work-related stress, manual handling and bespoke training is included as standard.
RSA's Care product includes cover for:
- Additional accommodation and sheltered housing expenses;
- Loss of registration certificate;
- Medical malpractice and personal liability; and
- Legal expenses.
Claims are handled by experienced teams with qualified solicitors that specialise in the sector, and larger or complex claims are managed by a specialist claims handling team. From express settlement of straightforward property claims to more complex claims, the claims specialists understand the impact a liability or property claim can have on a care business.
“The care, health and social sector in the UK is rapidly growing and our new RSA Care proposition ensures that we are keeping pace with our customers’ need for high-quality insurance solutions. We are refining our appetite and developing sector specialisms within the mid-corporate UK commercial market, and we are putting risk consulting at the heart of the offering.”
