Twelve more highly motivated insurance brokers have graduated from RSA’s pioneering Platinum Broker Leader Programme
The programme provides face-to-face training covering business skills including strategy setting, business planning, change management and communications to the participants, who were selected from brokerages across the UK.
Each participant was set a live business project to work on for the duration of the programme by their brokerage, and was paired with a mentor from RSA’s executive team to support their progress. At the end of the seven-month course, each broker presented their project to a panel consisting of RSA leaders, including their mentor, and a sponsor from their brokerage.
Owen Thomas, sales & distribution director at RSA and one of the programme’s leaders, said:

The programme provides a unique opportunity for brokers to hone their leadership skills and create a broking community between the participants that might otherwise take years to develop.
“The calibre of the participants in the 2016/2017 programme has been outstanding and they have produced business plans that take real skill and creativity to execute. Some of their projects have, in fact, already been put into practice within the brokerages.

The programme has been tailor-made to enable brokers and RSA mentors to build collaborative relationships and to learn from each other. RSA’s mentors also benefit from having the opportunity to develop their own coaching and leadership skills.

This year’s Platinum graduates have credited the course with building their confidence, empowering them and enabling them to think more strategically.
Commenting on the programme, Donna Robertson of CCRS Brokers, said:

Polly Staveley of TL Dallas advised other brokers considering taking the course to “grab the opportunity with both hands” adding:

Completion of the Platinum Broker Programme contributes towards CII members’ Continuous Professional Development accreditation.
Applications for the 2017/18 Platinum Broker Leader Programme will open in June.
An awards ceremony and gala dinner for this year's Platinum graduates were held at Glaziers Hall in London earlier this month. Joining the graduates and their sponsors in their celebrations were RSA’s CEO Stephen Hester and several of RSA's senior leaders.
