Your development
Talented people give us our competitive edge. That’s why we like to take a rigorous approach to identifying, nurturing and retaining talent.
We want everyone, at every level, to realise their potential. But we also know that people have different aspirations. That’s something we’re fully able to support through the wide range of training and development programs on offer.
If you want to develop your claims, underwriting and actuarial technical mastery, we provide support for certain professional qualifications. Our Technical Academy provides networks to share best practice. Clearly defined, technical career paths and industry-leading training programmes are provided. Options include:
- Commercial Underwriting Apprenticeship Programme - providing A Level school-leavers with an alternative to continuing their education.
- Global Pricing Academy - as being excellent at pricing can give us a real competitive advantage
- Advanced Development Programme (ADP) – an 18 month programme to develop lead underwriters and portfolio managers.
These all contribute to our reputation for industry leading technical mastery.
If you want to develop in a non-insurance profession – We have development programmes for Profit and Loss (P&L) leaders, a programme to develop our up and coming HR talent and a Marketing Academy to help us in achieving our ambition of becoming a best-in-class marketing function, to name just a few. Whatever your expertise, we’ll endeavour to support your continuing development.
If you want to become a leader – We run many development programmes for graduates through to senior executive level, to find and develop our leaders of tomorrow. For example, we have an award-winning, seven-month development programme that targets those with the potential to move into senior leadership within two to five years. This includes the opportunity to work on a real-life business challenge that is pitched to country executives.
We also offer on-the-job support for the fundamental skills you might need in your role – such as presentation skills and certain software packages. When you start, not only will you go through our comprehensive on-boarding process, you will be assigned a ‘buddy’ to help you settle in during your first few weeks.
